But Brooke seems like a pipe dream. A new project brings them close and they form a friendship. Brooke has an open relationship with Arnauld, the head of the animation studio. However, Brooke is a woman who loves her career and has been dating Arnauld for a few years now.
Would she risk everything for Nathan? And what would happen if she found out about B-Girl? Would she be freaked out that he had a crush on her, way before they met? B-Girl is the physical manifestation of my love and admiration for her.
That was such a cute read!! Nathan is not the ordinary alpha, sexy man we love to read. This story was so unique and different that it was refreshing. Such a pair! It was so adorable how much he loved her and had a crush on her and she just seemed so out of reach and impossible to ever dream that she would be interested in someone like him. On the other hand, she was trying to work on his confidence and to make him realize that he was so much more than he thought.
I swooned and awed many times and I just thought that it was a really adorable read. I love her tenderly, still mindful of her fragile heart. I love her completely, until she understands the majestic way she has filled me, heart and soul.
Book was loaned by the very sweet Jeanne! Thank you so much!! The storyline was a little on the slow side. Also I got a bit tired of them saying how handsome and sexy each other was. But I love Nathan soo much. He was adorably geeky, clueless and sweet all wrapped in one. This was very unlike the typical romance, no alpha male here!
But a cute nerdy one nonetheless. He was passionate, caring, determined a What a quirky and sweet read! He was passionate, caring, determined and never gave up his quest for the woman he loved. Brooke was his dream girl, his B-girl, a comic character he had created in her image. He loved her from afar and never thought he had what it took to win her over. But it turned out his quirky and lovable nature was all it took.
That and several cute carictures drawn on starbucks coffee cups that ultimately stole her heart! Brooke is in development and works for the same company as Nathan. I really liked Brooke.
She was a beautiful woman who hid her geekdom underneath expensive clothing and professional obligations. I loved all the little animations throughout this book, not only the ones Nathan drew for her, but the storybook he ended up making for her during a very rough and taxing time.
The nice guy truly does get the girl and it was sweet karma for all involved. I loved the ending and how both the main characters used animation to tell the other what they wished for, very different and original. This was a beautiful story filled with laughter, love and finding the one. This is a standalone with an HEA. When we first meet Nathan he is this nerd who loves his cartoons and his job, animation.
We quickly get to see that he has another love, Brooke. Because of this Nathan has learned to love and admire her from afar and through his B-Girl, the cartoon character he has created through the inspiration he gets from his love for Brooke.
An opportunity comes up that finds Nathan helping Brooke out with her computer which leads to them spending time together. The more time they spend together the more they find how much they have in common. Nathan also listens to her, he pays her compliments, he tells her how talented and smart she is but the one thing that most touched me was the way he loves her just the way she is.
Her boyfriend Arnauld is always telling Brooke how she needs to lose weight as her butt is too big or that she needs to get her breasts enlarged, which has left Brooke feeling very insecure about her body.
Hearing this enrages Nathan, he is determined to get Brooke to love her body and to see how perfect she is. Arnauld has noticed Brooke has changed and he knows Nathan has played a role in these changes. He hates that Brooke is spending so much time with Nathan and hates that he is losing his control over her. Arnauld will not stand for this so he sets out to destroy Nathan. Will Arnauld succeed in taking everything that means something to Nathan away?
Will Brooke stand by Arnaulds side or will she give her heart to Nathan? Not going to give anything away other than to say Nathan has the best family and friends. Thank you Ruth Clampett for writing this beautiful love story and for sharing so much of your own family with us. I learned so much about the animation world through reading Animate Me. Their relationship moves from friendship to a sexual nature. It created a love triangle my definition of love triangle- one person in love or dating two people at the same time.
Plus all the caricatures throughout the book added a nice touch to the story. Standalone January 1, Judy Marks I absolutely loved this book. Animate Me follows the unconventional relationship of Nathan and Brooke who meet accidentally outside the work place. Through the course of the novel there are many twists and turns but in the end we find that it is important to be comfortable who you are on the inside and then you will find your happiness. We are all superheroes! The first words in the book are the definitions of the word animate — to bring to life; to give spirit and vigor.
This definition captures the absolute feel of the book and the theme. Brooke and Nathan bring each other to life over the course of the book. The most amazing part of Ms. In addition each chapter starts with a classic quote that sets the mood for the events to come. All the comic references give the book such spirit and vigor. The best wooing is when Nathan draws pictures on Starbucks cups of B-girl and gives them to Brooke. I just could not wait to coffee time each day in the story to see what Nathan drew.
Animate Me is a truly unique romance. The characters are great and you fall in love with them. The story is very well written.
